Award-winning summer: UK senior named Astronaut Scholar, DAAD RISE intern

It has been an award-winning summer for one University of Kentucky senior — Isha Chauhan. The biology and Lewis Honors College student from La Grange, Kentucky, was named one of the country’s 68 prestigious Astronaut Scholarship recipients and completed a DAAD RISE research internship in Germany.

UK presents 'Cafecito con Chavez: An Evening with Eduardo Chavez'

Lyman T. Johnson award winners announced

Jack Groppo, Zebulon Hart and Lucas Bertucci are co-founders of Verdant Beneficiated Resources, a critical materials recovery company. Their mission: Turn the millions of tons of refuse generated across the nation each year, including electronics waste, into a new Kentucky industry.

Call for posters: UK Sustainability announces research poster competition

Students can present their posters during the UK Sustainability Showcase from 5-7 p.m. in the atrium of the Healthy Kentucky Research Building (HKRB) on Sept. 27. The submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 18.

3 Wildcats earn Gilman Scholarships to study abroad in France

The Gilman Scholarship supports students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including but not limited to, students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities. Lewis Honors College student Bridan Braun was one of three recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships.

New Center for Personal Development Counselor Rebecca Anderson joins the Lewis Honors College

We are delighted to announce Rebecca Anderson as the new Center for Personal Development counselor focusing on leadership development! Rebecca has more than nine years of professional experience having served as the director of adult and graduate admissions at Midway University. She has expertise in enrollment, marketing, and counseling. Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Transylvania University and master’s degree from Lindsey Wilson College in counseling and mental health.
