4 Wildcats named Fulbrights

The University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that four students including Lewis Honors College student Rayleigh Deaton have been offered Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships to travel abroad to teach, study or pursue research for the 2023-24 academic year.  

Physics graduate finds lifelong passion for research at UK

“I can solidly say that research is something that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life," said Gabija Ziemyte, a Lewis Honors student and Chellgren Student Fellow who majored in physics and mathematics with an English minor in the College of Arts and Sciences.

15 UK students, alumni awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowships

As part of the five-year fellowship, the NSF Fellows receive a three-year annual stipend of $37,000 along with a $12,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees for a research-based master’s or doctoral degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) field.
