The program’s mission is to increase awareness and create opportunities for students to actively engage in research. Ambassadors must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and be involved in mentored research.

The Chellgren Center for Undergraduate Excellence has recently named 34 new fellows, five endowed professorships and three faculty fellows. 3 Wildcats earn Gilman Scholarships to study abroad in France

The Gilman Scholarship supports students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including but not limited to, students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities. Lewis Honors College student Bridan Braun was one of three recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships.

New Center for Personal Development Counselor Rebecca Anderson joins the Lewis Honors College

We are delighted to announce Rebecca Anderson as the new Center for Personal Development counselor focusing on leadership development! Rebecca has more than nine years of professional experience having served as the director of adult and graduate admissions at Midway University. She has expertise in enrollment, marketing, and counseling. Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Transylvania University and master’s degree from Lindsey Wilson College in counseling and mental health.

The Sustainability Research Fellowship is a collaborative program with a goal to support and promote sustainability-related undergraduate research endeavors. The program launched in 2014 and has since supported 48 undergraduates.

Kenton Sena, Ph.D., a lecturer in the University of Kentucky Lewis Honors College, is one of this year’s Great Teacher Award recipients. He joined the UK faculty in 2018 and teaches courses on forest restoration ecology, environmental science and literature of the environment.
