The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research and UK Sustainability are honored to announce the six winners of the fifth annual sustainability research poster competition.

The University of Kentucky Office of Undergraduate Research announces the eighth annual 5-Minute Fast Track student research competition finalists. These undergraduates will present their research during the final round from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in 150 Healthy Kentucky Research Building.

UK team selected for national research advocacy program, including two Lewis Honors seniors

A University of Kentucky team has been selected for the 2025-26 Scholars Transforming Through Research (STR) Program of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). The five-month program culminates in a two-day event March 2026 on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

Nobel winner’s journey from campus to cure: ‘Cracking the Code’ film coming to Kentucky Theatre

The University of Kentucky community is invited to the documentary film premiere of “Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp & the Biotech Revolution” 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Kentucky Theatre, with a post-screening conversation on UK biotech research, innovation and commercialization.The 96-minute film screening will be followed by a panel conversation with researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs from UK. McClure will moderate the panel which includes Luke H. Bradley, Ph.D., professor and alumni chair, neuroscience, UK College of Medicine; Lewis Honors College faculty member; and CEO and co-founder of Avast Therapeutics.

UK Alumni Association hosts 34th annual Lyman T. Johnson Awards Luncheon

The University of Kentucky Alumni Association’s Lyman T. Johnson Alumni Constituency Group will host the 34th annual Lyman T. Johnson Awards Luncheon 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in the Gatton Student Center Grand Ballroom. Kennedi Fishback will receive the Torch Bearer award from the Lewis Honors College.

Advancing undergraduate research through the Chellgren Endowed Professorship: Robin Cooper

The Chellgren Endowed Professorship gave Cooper the runway to amplify that spirit of inquiry, transforming his classroom and lab into even more powerful spaces where undergraduates could test ideas, take intellectual risks and share their discoveries on the national stage. One such student is Katie Neglia, a 2025 Chellgren Student Fellow and health sciences major in the Lewis Honors College.

UK launches campus-wide Leadership Development Collaborative for 2025-26
