UK Grad Has a Passion for Intercultural Education, Empowering Others

Kendall Hitch has spent her time at UK advocating for human rights and education, teaching English, and empowering people all around the world. She will graduate this Friday with a degree in political science from the UK College of Arts and Sciences and the Lewis Honors College.

UK Senior Wins Astronaut Scholarship, Brooke Owens Fellowship

UK biology and neuroscience senior Esther Putman, of Lexington, is having an out of this world year. This summer, she was named one of 50 recipients of a $10,000 scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. In addition, Putman was one of 40 recipients of a Brooke Owens Fellowship, which matches its fellows with paid summer internships in the aviation and space industry.
