December 2018 Commencement Speakers Announced

Kelsey Allmon, a graduate student in the UK Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce, and Kendall Hitch, a political science major in the UK College of Arts and Sciences, have been selected to deliver the student speeches at the December Commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 14.

Bridget Nicholas is UK's second Pickering Fellow.

UK's Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that 2018 modern and classical languages/Chinese studies and international studies graduate Bridget Nicholas, of Covington, Kentucky, will receive one of only 30 Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowships.

UK Senior Wins Astronaut Scholarship, Brooke Owens Fellowship

UK biology and neuroscience senior Esther Putman, of Lexington, is having an out of this world year. This summer, she was named one of 50 recipients of a $10,000 scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. In addition, Putman was one of 40 recipients of a Brooke Owens Fellowship, which matches its fellows with paid summer internships in the aviation and space industry.
