MONDAY, August 19
9:00am-3:00pm: Move-in Appointments
4:00pm-5:30pm: Check-in for Lewis Launch (Lewis Honors College)
Stop by our Welcome and Hospitality Center located in Lewis Honors College to check in for Lewis Launch. Bring your family members to pick up their gift as well.
5:30pm-6:30pm: Meet up with your Launch Group (Location will be communicated by your Launch Leader)
6:30pm-8:00pm: Dinner with your Launch Group (The 90 or Champions Kitchen)
Go to dinner with your launch group or eat with your family.
8:00pm: Evening Social Event (Gatton Student Center, Harris Ballroom & Worsham Cinema)
Enjoy an evening getting to know your fellow classmates with fun, interactive games, live musical performances, comedy and trivia.
TUESDAY, August 20
9:30am-10:00am: Check- in for Lewis Launch (Gatton Student Center, coat check outside of Ballrooms ABC) If you did not check-in on Monday at the Welcome & Hospitality Center, please check in here
10:00am: Official Launch Welcome Session (Gatton Student Center, Ballrooms ABC)
11:00am: Launch Group Activity
12:00pm-1:30pm: Lunch with your Launch Group (The 90 or Champions Kitchen)
1:30pm-4:30pm: Rotational Sessions (See drop down menu for more information on rotational sessions) Learn about resources and programs and meet with your advisors and counselors
5:30pm: Dinner with your Launch Group (The 90 or Champions Kitchen)
7:00pm-8:30pm: Late Night with the Dean (Gatton Student Center, Ballrooms ABC)
Dean Christian Brady will host this unconventional and fun filled convocation formatted as a late night show
8:30pm-10:00pm: After Show Party (optional) (Lewis Honors College)
Casually hang out with your new peers and snacks and game activities
WEDNESDAY, August 21
10:00am-11:00am: Meet the Faculty Session (Gatton Student Center, Ballrooms AB)
Attend the faculty panel discussion to get to know some of your faculty members before the school year kicks off.
11:00am-100pm: Resource Fair (Gatton Student Center, Ballroom C)
Visit with UK resources and student organizations to learn about all the ways you can get plugged in
1:00pm: Lunch with your Launch Group, Launch Concludes (The 90 or Champions Kitchen)

Monday, 8/19 Full Schedule
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM MOVE-IN APPOINTMENTS (UK Residence Halls )
Arrive to campus for your move-in appointment. Volunteers are present to help you unload. Start unpacking and setting up your room.
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM WELCOME & HOSPITALITY CENTER (Lewis Honors College)
Need a break from unpacking? Want to check-in for Lewis Launch? Stop by the Lewis Honors College to meet staff and enjoy some complimentary beverages. The Family Advisory Council and upper-class Honors students will also be present to greet you and answer questions. New students can pick up their name tag and personalized schedule for Lewis Launch (Opportunity for check-in is also offered between 9:30-10:00 on 8/20 outside the Gatton Student Center Ballrooms).
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM LAUNCH GROUP MEET-UPS (Lewis Honors College Grounds)
Your Launch Leader will share a designated spot to meet with your group in the areas around the Lewis Honors College and Community of Scholars residence halls (Donovan, Johnson, Lewis, and Haggin). You will get to know your Launch Leader and fellow group members.
6:00 PM -7:30 PM DINNER (The 90 or Champions Kitchen)
Go to dinner with your Launch Group or eat with your family.
8:00 PM -10:00 PM EVENING ENTERTAINMENT (Gatton Student Center, Harris Ballroom/ Worsham Cinema)

This is your chance to ask current honors students any questions you would like. What are honors courses really like? How do you navigate roommate challenges? What suggestions do you have for weekend fun? What tips do you have about the dining options on campus? And much more!
Session 2: Center for Personal Development (CPD) Resources
Meet with your designated personal development counselor and get acquainted with ways your counselor supports your exploration of purpose while cultivating self-awareness, well-being, and career readiness. Your counselor is noted on the back of your name tag.

Session 3: Honors Advising and Academic Planning:
This session will provide an opportunity for students to meet their assigned Honors advisor and learn about the Honors curriculum. Students will learn about how their Honors advisor will work with their Center for Personal Development counselor and major advisor to support them on their academic journey. An overview of academic planning and success resources will be provided. Your advisor is noted on the back of your name tag.

Research Opportunities Info Session (Jacob Science Building, Room JSB 221):
As a Research I institution, UK students have access to unparalleled research. Learn about research opportunities at the University of Kentucky, which are available to students in every major. What opportunities are available? How do you find them? When should you start looking? What kinds of support does the UK provide? These and other questions will be addressed. Remember: your honors experience will culminate in a senior thesis project that will draw upon your various courses and research opportunities during your time at the University of Kentucky. Hear from current students about their research endeavors and projects and learn how to get connected today!

Education Abroad Info Session (Jacob Science Building, Room JSB 121):
Come learn about Honors Education Abroad opportunities. What program types are available? When should you go? Do you need to know a foreign language? (No!) What kind of financial support do Honors students receive? How can you stack this funding with UK scholarships & financial aid to finance your program cost? Where are Honors faculty taking students next summer? Remember: your honors curriculum will include "experiential learning" experiences... Those might be internships, research, or study abroad. We want all honors students to go abroad at some point. Come hear from faculty and students about their trips and experiences.

Join the Launch Leaders and choose among several game rooms (including Trivia, board games, and more), enjoy snacks, and socialize.

Attend the faculty panel discussion to get to know some of your faculty members before the school year kicks off. Please also take the Lewis Launch Feedback Survey before you leave. We want to hear about your experience!
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM RESCOURCE FAIR (Gatton Student Center Ballroom C)
Attend the Resource Fair with your Launch Group and visit with UK resources and student organizations to learn about all the ways you can get plugged in. Lots of information, swag, and chances to win raffle prizes. Prize winners will be chosen from among attendees at Lewis Launch session. Drawings will take place throughout the duration of the fair. Please also take the Lewis Launch Feedback Survey before you leave. We want to hear about your experience!
1:00 PM LUNCH (The 90 or Champions Kitchen )
Celebrate your completion of Lewis Launch by dining with your Launch Group. This isn’t goodbye because your Launch Leader will support your group through the second week of September. After that, you will have a designated Peer Mentor to check in with you during the school year.
