Lewis Honors College to host Brew & Browse Bookfair with Lexington Public Library
The Lewis Honors College (LHC) is partnering with the Friends of the Lexington Public Library for the LHC Brew & Browse Bookfair, noon-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Lewis Scholars Lounge.
This event is part of the “Lewis Loves You Week” celebration.
Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to relive the nostalgia of classic elementary school book fairs, reimagined with a “Lewis Loves You Week” twist. Attendees can browse a curated selection of books for sale provided by the Friends of the Lexington Public Library while savoring Starbucks coffee, indulging in café treats and taking home other bookfair favorites, including bright pencils, bookmarks and stickers.
Proceeds from the book fair will benefit the Lexington Public Library, whose mission is to enrich and connect the community.
The community is welcome to stop by, discover a new book, and celebrate a love of reading in good company. Book fair visitors can enjoy the smooth sounds of jazz saxophonist and honors junior Vincent Buchenberger, who will perform from noon to 1:30 p.m. Buchenberger is a psychology major and music performance minor who is a member of the jazz-fusion band Tiramisu, which includes three other UK students. He is excited about this solo performance to share his passion for jazz.
Other events to be held during “Lewis Loves You Week” include:
- Square Dancing, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10
- Button Making, 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Feb. 11
